Glass Children

Glass children, often overlooked as they quietly support siblings with special needs, navigate a unique path marked by resilience and a deep understanding of empathy despite the challenges of being seen and heard.

Glass children experience a quiet invisibility not out of parental neglect, but from an unintentional lack of awareness and support, as families focus on the immediate demands of their siblings' special needs.

If this resonates with you, I can offer coaching to help create a nurturing balance - ensuring that glass children receive the recognition and emotional connection they need, while empowering parents to feel understood and equipped to be fully present for all their children.

You're Not Alone
I AM a sibling of a brother with Cerebral Palsy
I’m here to help children understand that they are not alone in their thoughts and feelings. They don’t have to hide their emotions or worry about “burdening” their parents or others. Their feelings are normal and valid, and I guide them in finding healthy, effective ways to deal with their unique experiences. I am here to help them develop self-compassion and a deeper understanding of themselves, as well as effective communication skills that will allow them to be more open with their parents. All of these skill sets will help them feel more valued within the family and strengthen their bond with their sibling with special needs. The support doesn't end there- I am willing to support the family as a whole. For parents, I offer tools to better understand what these “glass children” go through, offering insight into their child's experience and tools to help support them.
